Back Again

So, owning a website means I have to pay a minimal fee every three months.

I think it's worth it, but it's beginning to be like a gym membership that's never used. It just sits there and drains its owner's account.

When this happens there's only two courses of action to pursue:

1) Go to the gym

2) Cancel the membership

I have no intention of cancelling my membership.

Unfortunately for the blog though, I'm feeling pretty mellow about politics, etc.

So, the blog will probably delve into the boring side of the internet, the dreaded personal blog. I'm going to attempt to update the blog at least weekly, but it might be a little less serious.

Here's some funny things on the internet:

Oh the huge manatee:

The Bruno trailer:

Even though Sacha Baron Cohen allegedly disabled a woman in the making of this movie, it still looks like something to see. (http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory?id=7746880)

The new JibJab movie:

Now, for those of you who don't watch American news, as much of a drama that it is, American media contributors, from the anchors to the writers, to the journalists are always accused of having a bias of either left or right politics (because apparently politics is as simple as red vs. blue). Anyway, it started when right-wingers around the Nixon era started to accuse journalists of being lefties, real journalists like Dan Rather. Eventually the news agencies became self conscious, the public became suspicious and agencies like Rupert Murdoch's wet dream (Fox News) who were overtly politically skewed (to the right) popped up. During the Bush administration, Fox flourished and was a voice of open support for the Republicans (going so far as to do things like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouKJixL--ms&feature=PlayList&p=CCB5AF1962... ), and now under a Democratic president, MSNBC has been drifting a little to the left.

Anyway, this was a lead up to this: after watching so much of American politics permeating into American news, I always watch anything from the states with a critical mind, trying to see if they go one way or another, and if it looks intentional or not. With JibJab, I can never tell, I'd like to believe that they are apolitical, but since their focus is American political comedy, I'm not so sure.

Cool Guys don't look at explosions:

I think my favourite line is "walk fast from that boring explosion, and don't think about the people you've killed."

And Finally to make this blog super-tough, the most chilling poem ever written, The Charge of the Light Brigade:

That's all for now
